Computer Based Training

Role: Web UI Developer

The Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), an agency of the United States Department of Defense (DoD), provides finance and accounting services for the military and other members of defense.

The goal of this project was to develop a Web Based Training (WBT) tool to go with an upcoming software upgrade. All DFAS employees would switch to the e-Biz Timekeeping overview in the e-Biz change management initiative. The WBT would help employees orient themselves and those who work for them.

The WBT would:

•  Train all DFAS employees and subcontractors the basics of how e-Biz works and how to use the e-Biz Timekeeping tool to handle their timesheets
• Train all DFAS timesheet approvers to perform the Timekeeping tasks associated with their roles
• Provide an overview of the purpose and process associated with each of the E-BIZ modules

Description of Responsibilities

I served as the Web UI Developer for the e-Biz Timekeeping module WBT. This involved integrating an exported copy of the actual timekeeping site and creating overlays and hooks into it via JavaScript. This enabled the user to test on a seemingly live site while minimizing development costs.
